The Grey Lady of Charlecote Park, Warwickshire

The Grey Lady of Charlecote Park, Warwickshire

Whether the ghosts of Charlecote have anything to do with Shakespeare or witches is unclear. The more active of the phantoms is that of a young lady who walks quietly and soulfully beside the lake in the grounds of the house. She is generally thought to be the ghost of a servant who committed suicide by drowning herself in the lake, though what prompted her to take such a dreadful step is not known.
